Remembrance Friday at the Longborough War Memorial
In preparation for the 100th anniversary of the end of the first world war next year; Longborough children have begun the process of creating 'outdoor' poppies which will decorate the village war memorial in a fantastic display. We held a poppy making workshop thanks to our community members who helped and there are currently 50 poppies made. We aim to double this at least, for next years anniversary tributes.
Children also placed small wooden crosses to mark the names of all the 'Longborough' men who went to fight and sadly never returned.
Autumn Term Photography Competition Winner
A Year 2 Longborough pupil has won the NCSF photography competition for this term. James captured the 'Farm to Fork' theme perfectly in this composition using his initiative and his own toys to recreate a farming scene. Congratulations James, an excellent shot!

International Air Tattoo: Friday 14th July 2017
We all had a fabulously inspiring day at the Air Tattoo, Children were fascinated by the 'Technozone'; learning about all the engineering career options available across a broad range of institutes and services. We were all in awe of the Red Arrows Aerobatics Display Team, Thunderbirds, Chinooks and the Raptor. Children asked some incredible and intelligent questions and our STEM engineering challenge finalists (Dan and Jacob) were put through their paces in the KNEX final. Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible and such a wonderful experience for the children. Hopefully the inspiration will continue to encourage some of our children to be the engineers, pilots and scientists of the future.
