Well done to all of class 3 for creating some excellent poems! These are the Class 3 semi-finalists:
The semi-final will be held on Friday 14th July at 2:30 in the church.
Please come to our violin performance on Friday at 9:30 in the church!
Welcome to Class 3’s page!
During the year we will be regularly updating this page by adding pictures, videos and information to show you what we have been doing. There will also be some important information about our day to day routine and important upcoming events.
Our main topic this term is Geography where we will be learning about rivers and the water cycle. In English, we are reading Alice in Wonderland and creating and describing our own imagined worlds. We will be learning about shape, time and money in maths. For PE this term we are going swimming every Tuesday morning and we will be learning to play the violin on Friday mornings.
The whole school value for this term is 'truthfulness'; we will be focusing on our value in worship and in class linking it where appropriate to our other areas of learning.
Class 3’s week:
Monday – Spellings set, homework set and previous week’s collected. The 'Monday Mile' every afternoon.
Tuesday – Swimming at 11am.
Wednesday – Creative Curriculum.
Thursday – Show and tell.
Friday – Violin lessons and spellings tested.
Once again on a Friday morning from 8:35am until 9:00am, you are very welcome in our classroom. Please come and look at your children’s books and our classroom displays. This year we have a display in our classroom for parents to add a comment about something their children have done during the week that makes them proud. The ‘Proud Parents’ display can praise any achievements at school or at home. We look forward to filling our display with your lovely comments!
Homework will alternate between Maths and English, it will be set on a Monday to be returned the following Monday (see the homework section below). Spellings will be sent home every Monday and tested on the following Friday.
We expect children to read for a minimum of 15 minutes every night, this could be to somebody else or independently. We will be recording how often we read at home on our Reading Bar Chart in our book corner, so please remember to write in your reading record. Books and reading records need to be in school every day.
Even though we are going swimming this term please can you make sure your child has a labelled PE kit in school every day, as we will be making the most of the weather and going to field as often as possible. Please make sure your children have a green PE t-shirt, shorts, joggers, a jumper and socks in their PE kits .
Please make sure every Tuesday your child brings their swimming costume/shorts, a towel, goggles (optional) and a swimming hat is advised for children with long hair.
Our class letter contains lots of other information about our class routines and what we will be learning about this term. Please feel free to come in and speak to us or arrange a suitable time to meet with us if you have any questions or concerns.
Keep checking our class page to find out about our adventures in Class Three!
