Congratulations to our new Head Girl and Head Boy! 1

Welcome to Class 4's page!

We hope you had a relaxing half term! We have lots of exciting learning and trips to look forward to this term in the run up to Christmas.

We have the following topics planned until Christmas:

- Maths: four operations and statistics

- English: story writing and non-fiction leaflets

- Science: light

- PE: tag rugby, hockey and sports leader sessions

- History: A local history study

- RE: Was Jesus the Messiah?

We will be linking our art, music and French to the topics above throughout the term.

The whole federation value this term is 'compassion'; we will be focusing on our value in Worship and in class linking it where appropriate to our other areas of learning.

Class 4's week:

Monday –Homework due in. Spellings and homework set. The 'Monday Mile' every afternoon.

Tuesday – Mrs Bullock in to listen to readers in the afternoon.

Wednesday – Mrs Gaden will be in class in the morning and Creative Curriculum afternoon.

Thursday -- PE afternoon.

Friday – Spelling books with defintions due in, spellings tested and multiplication challenge.

Friday Mornings:

Once again on a Friday morning from 8:35am until 9:00am, you are very welcome in our classroom. Please come and look at your children’s books and our classroom displays. This year, we once again have a display in our classroom for parents to add a comment about something their children have done during the week that makes them proud. The ‘Proud Parents’ display can praise any achievements at school or at home. We look forward to once again filling our display with your lovely comments!

Homework:

Homework will alternate between Maths and English/Topic, it will be set on a Monday to be returned on the Friday (see the homework and spelling sections below). Spellings will be set every Monday and tested on the following Friday, the spellings can be found in the spelling section below. Homework club will take place on a Thursday lunchtime in Class 4 for any children who wish to do their homework at school.

PE kit:

Please can you make sure your child has a labelled PE kit in school every day. Please make sure your children have a green PE t-shirt, shorts, joggers, a jumper and socks in their PE kits . If your child wears tights to school, please ensure they have socks to wear for PE.

Our class letter and term overview contains lots of other information about our class routines and what we will be learning about this term. Please feel free to come in and speak to us or arrange a suitable time to meet with us if you have any questions or concerns.
