A Message from The Executive Headteacher
Welcome to Cold Aston CofE Primary School rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted January 2015. Cold Aston is one of three schools of which I am Executive Headteacher within The North Cotswold Schools Federation (NCSF). The NCSF was officially formed on 01st September 2016. However, we have been fortunate to have been able to work together closely for the past 6 years within The High Five Partnership (a cluster of 6 local schools.) Previously to this role I have been Headteacher at Cold Aston CofE Primary School for the last seven years.
I am very excited to be undertaking this new role and I feel immensely fortunate to have a wonderful staff team to work with; some of whom are joining us for the first time this year and others who have been working within the three schools for some time. We have a wonderful array of skills which we are going to be using to share best practice across NCSF and develop Cold Aston's already Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' provision. As NCSF we are hoping to be able to offer ‘the best of both worlds.' Individually, we are able to maintain all of the uniqueness of a small Church school with nurturing environments, but within NCSF also offer the benefits of greater resources, broader ranging staff with varying skills and a further wealth of opportunities for the children to enjoy together.
I will be leading the three schools moving between the three sites supported by my three fabulous new Senior Leaders when I am not on site. Together we aim to provide a safe, enjoyable and stimulating environment, where children are motivated to become independent learners and thinkers with high expectations. We recognise that your child is unique and we will do our best to ensure that your child makes the most of their abilities.
As you read through these pages you will gain some insight into why we believe Cold Aston CofE Primary School is a special place. However, visiting this website is no substitute for visiting the school, where you will experience the atmosphere and be able to observe the activities in which the children are involved.
I very much look forward to meeting you all and continuing to lead Cold Aston CofE Primary school into its next phase of development. If you are interested in visiting Cold Aston CofE Primary School then please do not hesitate to get in contact with the office to either book an appointment with myself or our Senior Leader Miss Ella Hewitt.
A Message from the Senior Leader
I feel very honoured to be able to call myself Senior Leader of our wonderful village school, Cold Aston CofE Primary School. From my very first visit to Cold Aston I knew this welcoming and nurturing environment was a school I wanted to be a part of and felt very privileged to have been offered an opportunity to work as a class teacher for the Early Years. Since then, I have seen the school grow from strength to strength as we continue to flourish in numbers and build on our 'outstanding' foundations. With the help of our incredibly skilled and supportive team of staff I will endeavour to maintain our motto to Care Aspire Persevere and Succeed (CAPS) in all aspects of school life from pupils to parents and community well being.
Please do not hesitate to come and speak to me if you have something you would like to discuss. I look forward to getting to know you all a little better as well as meeting any new families who join our school.
"This successful school lives up to its mission to ensure that all pupils 'Care, Aspire, Persevere, Succeed'. This means that all pupils flourish and grow as individuals who are highly valued and extremely well supported."
Ofsted, January 2015
I would like to welcome you to our 'Outstanding' school and website on behalf of the staff, Governors and children. Cold Aston is a thriving village school, situated at the heart of a caring vibrant community. We are surrounded by the most glorious countryside which we make the most of. We believe that when you join Cold Aston CofE Primary School you become a member of our 'school family' and we hope that you and your child wish to share fully in the active life of the school and village.
We believe that education is a partnership between home and school and that we should share this responsibility on the basis of trust and understanding. We want your child's time with us to be a happy and fulfilling one, full of rich and rewarding experiences where they can achieve their full potential and experience an exciting range of learning experiences and skills.
We are always very proud of our results and this year we are particularly proud ranking in the top 1% of schools in the country (my maths places us at 53rd out of 16,818 schools). Something the children and staff have worked very hard to achieve. This wonderful achievement was compounded by our latest Ofsted Report (January 2015) where we received the 'outstanding' grade within all areas.
This website aims to give you a taste of our school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents, pupils, community and anyone that is interested in our school. We also work very closely with some local schools in our 'High Five Partnership'. Within the partnership we provide further exciting learning opportunities for the children where they are able to work and play alongside other school children in the area.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find all the information you are looking for. Please feel free to leave comments in the guestbook, or contact the school directly with any queries you may have.
Lastly, we do still have some places available within the school, so please do contact me if you are interested in discussing this further.
Thank you for visiting!
Miss Alexandra Symondson
