Swell has a 3 class school structure within a traditional, well-kept building with large, bright classrooms. Our class sizes are very small (all less than 15 children) which allows us to challenge, support and nurture children as individuals. Alongside the school is our playground area which has a football pitch/netball court as well as a clubhouse, den building area and covered seating space. We have a school field and allotment nearby which we use for PE lessons, outdoor learning and after school clubs.
During the mornings we have 3 teaching groups with 3 teachers. This enables small teaching groups for very focused and individual work in English and Maths alongside key areas within our foundation subjects due to our cross curricular approach.
From September, Class One will taught by Mrs Rawlings and Miss Lager. The class in made up of reception, year one and year two children. Class one take part in outdoor learning every Thursday afternoon with a trained Forest School Leader and have a access to specialist sports coach teaching.
Year three and four are taught by Miss Lager every morning. In the afternoon, Class Two and Three and taught together by Mrs Coleman. They have a specialist PE coach on Friday.
Year five and six are taught by Mrs Coleman every morning. In the afternoon, they join with Class Three and are taught by Mrs Coleman apart from Friday afternoon when they are taught by a specialist PE coach.
