Governance at NCSF

The North Cotswold Schools Federation comprises Cold Aston, Longborough and Swell CofE Primary Schools federated since September 2016. this means we share a joint Governing Body.

We have a very pro-active Governing Body which includes members of the community, parents, staff from each school and Local Authority representatives who all work as part of a team to ensure that high standards of teaching and learning are maintained.

The full Governing Body meets six times per academic year along with sub committees which are Church & Community, Pay, Finance and Resources and Academic Improvement Committee.

Each year we request that Governors declare any potential conflict of interest between their work as a Governor and any personal relationships or business interests. This is also refreshed at the start of each meeting in the light of specific agenda items. No such conflicts of interest have been declared.

A Note from Our Chair

Here at The North Cotswold Schools Federation our mission is to make learning meaningful, make it relevant, and above all make it fun! We are all welcoming and friendly schools;  places where children and staff look forward to coming to each morning. We have an active and supportive Governing Body that recognises the enthusiastic and dedicated teaching team. Together with an active parent groups we fully support the Executive Headteacher and our whole school communities.

Governors have a general responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the schools, acting within the framework set by national legislation, and by the policies of the LA. Foundation governors in addition to general responsibility have a role in maintaining the Christian foundation of the schools.

The governors meet once each term and all aspects of the running of the schools from both a practical and academic point of view are discussed. Funding is by a budget set by the LA.

Our flexible class structures ensures that our children receive an exceptionally personal level of teaching. Pupils' progress is closely monitored and teaching is adapted to meet their learning needs. We very much look forward to welcoming you and your children, and invite you to come and experience the magic that makes The North Cotswold Schools Federation so special.
