A Message from The Executive Headteacher
Welcome to Cold Aston CofE Primary School rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted January 2015. Cold Aston is one of four schools of which I am Executive Headteacher within The North Cotswold Schools Federation (NCSF). The NCSF was officially formed on 01st September 2016. Since this time, the federation has grown from strength to strength providing wonderful opportunities across all of our schools for all of our children and working together to enhance pupil opportunities where appropriate.
I feel immensely fortunate to have a wonderful staff team to work with; some of whom are joining us for the first time this year and others who have been working within the four schools for some time. We have a broad array of skills which we use to share best practice across NCSF and to develop Cold Aston's already Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' provision. As NCSF we are able to offer ‘the best of both worlds.' Individually, we are able to maintain all of the uniqueness of a small Church school with nurturing environments, but within NCSF also offer the benefits of greater resources, broader ranging staff with varying skills and a further wealth of opportunities for the children to enjoy together.
I lead the four schools moving between the sites supported by my fabulous Deputy Executive Head and Heads of Schools when I am not on site. Together we aim to provide a safe, enjoyable and stimulating environment, where children are motivated to become independent learners and thinkers with high expectations. We recognise that your child is unique and we will do our best to ensure that your child makes the most of their abilities.
As you read through these pages you will gain some insight into why we believe Cold Aston CofE Primary School is a special place. However, visiting this website is no substitute for visiting the school, where you will experience the atmosphere and be able to observe the activities in which the children are involved.
I very much look forward to meeting you all and continuing to lead Cold Aston CofE Primary School into its next phase of development. If you are interested in visiting Cold Aston CofE Primary School then please do not hesitate to get in contact with the office to either book an appointment with myself or our Head of School, Mrs Tracy Pullee.
A Welcome from the Head of School
A very warm welcome to our wonderful school. Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Cotswolds, Cold Aston C of E School is where our pupils are nurtured and cherished to shine and flourish as lights in the world. We want our pupils to gain the most from their education in order for them to achieve the very best that they can.
Our job, in partnership with parents, is to build the foundations for an outstanding education, to enable each child to discover the joy of learning, to help them to fulfill every aspect of their potential and to encourage their growth into valuable citizens, ready to play their part in the world and their community. We focus on mental health, well-being and broader opportunities.
We are a small school with only 4 classes, and with our small classes and it's ability to offer dedicated and individual attention to the children's aspirations, we make this a unique and exciting experience for all. We offer a creative, nurturing and broad curriculum which includes language, music, sport and outdoor learning specialist teachers. Community is at the heart of school life and the close links we have with parents and the local community helps us to cherish and nurture the children, enabling them to flourish and shine in whatever they do.
Please come and see what large benefits our wonderfully small school has to offer.
Mrs Rebecca Hibell
Welcome to Cold Aston Church of England Primary School's Website.
"This successful school lives up to its mission to ensure that all pupils 'Care, Aspire, Persevere, Succeed'. This means that all pupils flourish and grow as individuals who are highly valued and extremely well supported."
Ofsted, January 2015
I would like to welcome you to our 'Outstanding' school and website on behalf of the staff, Governors and children. Cold Aston is a thriving village school, situated at the heart of a caring vibrant community. We are surrounded by the most glorious countryside which we make the most of. We believe that when you join Cold Aston CofE Primary School you become a member of our 'school family' and we hope that you and your child wish to share fully in the active life of the school and village.
We believe that education is a partnership between home and school and that we should share this responsibility on the basis of trust and understanding. We want your child's time with us to be a happy and fulfilling one, full of rich and rewarding experiences where they can achieve their full potential and experience an exciting range of learning experiences and skills.
We are always very proud of our results and this year we are particularly proud ranking in the top 1% of schools in the country (my maths places us at 53rd out of 16,818 schools). Something the children and staff have worked very hard to achieve. This wonderful achievement was compounded by our latest Ofsted Report (January 2015) where we received the 'outstanding' grade within all areas.
This website aims to give you a taste of our school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents, pupils, community and anyone that is interested in our school. We also work very closely with some local schools in our 'High Five Partnership'. Within the partnership we provide further exciting learning opportunities for the children where they are able to work and play alongside other school children in the area.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find all the information you are looking for. Please feel free to leave comments in the guestbook, or contact the school directly with any queries you may have.
Lastly, we do still have some places available within the school, so please do contact us if you are interested in discussing this further.
Thank you for visiting!
Miss Alexandra Symondson
